Hydromulches
Hydraulically applied and available in wood, straw and paper, hydromulches are sprayed through a hydroseeding machine on slopes and other exposed soils to establish vegetation and help prevent soil erosion from direct impact, such as rain and runoff.
Bonded Fiber Matrix
Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM) products are long lasting, high performance, hydraulically applied erosion control mulches that perform similarly to biodegradable erosion control blankets. The matrix is comprised primarily of plant fibers, usually from wood, that are mixed with organic based adhesives, mineral binders and (in some blends) synthetic fibers. BFM's are designed to provide protection from erosion for 6-12 months, and are commonly used for soil stabilization and vegetative establishment on steep slopes and highly erosive soils.
Wattles
These snake-like tubes of compacted straw, rice, coir (coconut fiber) or aspen fibers offer perimeter protection along contours or at the base of slopes, inlets and roadways to reduce soil erosion and runoff and retain sediment. Wattles are commonly referred to as sediment retention wattles (SRWs), slope interruption devices (SIDs) or sediment retention fiber rolls (SRFRs).
Turf Reinforcement Mats
Turf reinforcement mats (TRMs) are typically used in high flow situations, such as canals, bioswales and v-ditches. The mat is rolled out over an area, and seed and soil are embedded into the mat’s matrix. As vegetation grows, an anchoring effect takes place, creating a more secure preventative barrier against erosion.
Staples, Stakes & Fabric Pins
These fasteners aid in soil stabilization by securing erosion control blankets, turf reinforcement mats and geotextiles to the soil surface.
Erosion Control Blankets
Erosion control blankets (ECBs) are comprised of organic fiber, such as straw, coir (coconut fiber) or aspen wood fiber, and are available in single, double or biodegradable netting options. ECBs are installed on exposed soil to prevent direct impact erosion and runoff during rain, and to reinforce the establishment of vegetation.
Silt Fence
A barrier that filters silt
out of moving
water to provide sediment control, silt fence is available in construction and department of transportation (DOT) grades, as well as with wire backing for heavier sediment loads.
Orange Safety Fence
Made of a synthetic reinforcement grid, this bright orange fence acts as a jobsite control barrier and is available in both construction and department of transportation (DOT) grades.
T-Posts
For use in supporting silt and safety barrier fencing, t-posts are available in both lightweight and heavy duty, and painted and unpainted options.
Sandbags & Gravel Bags
Typically used for perimeter protection or as a sediment barrier around drain inlets or other sensitive areas, sand and gravel bags come in a variety of colors, sizes and weights, and are available in monofilament, polypropylene or burlap.
GeotextilesAvailable in woven and nonwoven needle-punched polypropylene, these fabrics are used for their soil separation, filtration and stabilization properties. Offered in various weight and roll sizes, geotextiles are installed in a variety of applications, including erosion control, roadway construction and pond and water feature installation.
GeogridsComprised of high-density poly fiber, geogrids provide soil reinforcement support for a variety of heavy construction applications, including retaining walls and subgrade soil stabilization and base reinforcement in permanent and temporary roadway projects. |
TackifiersKnown for their superior adhesive qualities, tackifiers are binding agents that are tank mixed with hydraulically applied wood, paper or straw mulches. Designed to hold fiber, seed and soil particles in place, tackifiers help stabilize soil structure and prevent washouts while enhancing germination by improving seed to soil contact.
Coir Logs & MatsComprised of coconut fiber, this material offers greater reinforcement and longer lasting perimeter protection in areas that have a greater exposure to water contact, such as stream and riverbanks, wetland restoration, riparian and other environmentally sensitive areas. |
